January 2026

The national AI strategy is being written now

Djibouti opened consultations on its first National Artificial Intelligence Strategy, with UN support. Strategies need an execution vehicle. MANARA is designed to be the platform the strategy runs on — not a vendor product bolted on afterwards.

2025 – 2030

A new five-year plan begins the Vision's final stretch

The new national development plan carries Vision 2035 into its last cycle: diversification, human capital, governance, and ecological transition. Every MANARA module maps to one of those axes — so progress is measurable from year one.

February 2026

The connectivity advantage is compounding

Submarine cables, data centres, and new terrestrial fibre linking Djibouti to Ethiopia and Sudan make the country the Horn of Africa's digital gateway. That is the raw material of a regional AI hub — if Djibouti moves first.

The economics of building changed
